Students entering grades 6 – 12 must have appropriate documentation of the following vaccinations: Tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis vaccine (Tdap); meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4 – Menactra); 2 chickenpox (varicella) vaccinations appropriately spaced per CDC guidelines, or documentation of disease history, or laboratory evidence of immunity.

 

In response to that, the Hendricks County Health Department will be holding a walk in clinic at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds, on February 18^th, 2010 from 3 pm – 9 pm.  This FREE clinic is for current 5^th – 11^th graders that still need any or all of these vaccinations, to be current for this next school year.  All children will be required to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and bring a complete vaccination record. If parents do not have a vaccination record, they can contact their child’s doctor for an updated record or call the school nurse for a copy of the school record. Please be prepared to wait in long lines and wear clothing that allows easy access to the upper arms.    For planning purposes, families must pre-register with the Hendricks County Health Department by calling 317-745-9214 by February 12^th.
